I am building a new website for Sue the Landlady at the New Inn anb wonder if you would mind me using one of your Cwm Clydach photos in the ‘local area’ section.
Message sent to the New Inn website. Thanks for asking – and it’s good to know that someone respects copyright legislation. You have my permission to use those photographs relating to Cwm Clydach and the New Inn. Would you please include an acknowledgement to Celt Photographic on the site. A pint of Guinness the next time I call in wouldn’t go amiss either!

Hi John, I saw you pages in a search for the NCI, and found them inspiring so much so that I have been attempting to use word press to make a photo blog for us here in Shoreham .
Please please will you tell me which version of word press you are using ? I was going great guns until it came to inserting the images , which basically will not embed.
I have just had to delete every thing to start again ,so I thought it time to ask a few questions .
Love the storm over Worms head. When I crack this blip ,I hope to show you the storm in the English Channel.
Kind regards
Mary Clark
Hi Mary, in answer to your question, I have referred your technical query to my computer guru – based in Kazakhstan !
I wreck computers! I barely know hoew to turn them on – let alone how or why they work. My step-son, Chris Merriman (chrismerriman.com ) is a genius on these damn things, and he is my long-suffering computer medic. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
Thanks for visiting my site – and i look forward to catching up with your as soon as it is established.
p.s. On the photographic site – which I do know a little bit about – the photos need to be reduced to 72 pixels per inch, and resized to no more than 600 pixels high or wide. Hope that helps
I see you were at the Pembrey Steam fair and vintage car rally. There was a stunning vintage racing car in british racing green absolutely immaculate, it attracted quite a bit of attention. I cant remember what it was and wondered if you had seen it and can remember it.
Liz
Hi Elizabeth. Yes I do remember seeing it. The driver caught me by surprise and my camera wasn’t set up properly so I didn’t get a decent shot of it. I believe it might have been and old racing Jaguar. Sorry I cannot give more information than that
Loved the photos,John. You had hair to die for in the 70′s! Thank you for doing this. Do you know where our Grandmother was born? I think it was in Thithecstone(?) near Pawthcawl, but I’m not sure. There was some connection with Dulverton in Somerset and I would love to know what it is. As for the photos thanks for 3. This is the first time I have seen a photo of my grandmother apart from a portrait Anne has of her as a young woman. Photo 5 is Rita. 11 Is Nancy with Mary, I think. It definitely isn’t my mum. 12 Is Margaret Spender, my sister. 13 I’m not sure but I think that 2nd from the left is me (Terry). 15 Is Aunt Veronica. 21 Grand-dad is with Rita and Jean Pierre. I thought the one of you (33) was your father! He was always a good looking man!
Thanks again, this was great fun.
Terry
Hi, i was given your info from a friend, as you did pictures for her daughters Christening. Im just wondering if your still doing events and if so could you give me a price!
Hi!
Any news on whether, if or when the 2011 Welsh Bodypaint festival is to be held? And the location? I’m interested in this as a photographer, not a model or artist.

HI JOHN, SEEMS A LONG TIME AGO WHEN WE WERE AT SCHOOL, I CAME ACROSS YOUR SITE LOOKING FOR OLD PHOTOS OF ABERKENFIG, DO YOU HAVE ANY ? LET ME KNOW IF YOU DO,I ENJOYED YOUR PHOTOS, YOU CANT BEAT THE OLD ONES, THEY ALL TELL A TALE, NICE TO HEAR YOUR STILL ABOUT, ALL THE BEST, GERALD.
Hi Gerald. Great to hear from you. Sean Connick & I have some old school photos between us, I’ll try and dig them up and put them on my blog soon. More recent stuff on my Facebook site – under my name. Just put in John Kavanagh. I am way behind in updating my blog – being retired now, life is far too busy, but I will get around to adding some as soon as possible.
By the way, it was a bloody long time ago since we were in school together ! Can’t believe that life has gone by so quickly.
Hello again John,
A request this time off a person that lived in St brides road, Colin Fitzgerald, he lives next to me in Sarn, Lower LLansantffraid, your sister lived there a long tome ago, anyway back to the plot, Colin gave you an old photo of him and a guy called Ken Eagle sitting in the old burnt out picture house at the top of Aberkenfig, the thing is he cant find find it and he is asking do you have a copy,if you do can you e-mail it to me and i`ll print out a copy for him, this took place some time ago so he hopes you will remember, Thanks John, and give Sean my regards, i dont remember when i saw him last, like nearly all from school days, the only two i see are John & Gerard Riley, infact i worked with them for a while quite a few years ago, them carpenters, me painter& decorator, hope to hear anything about the photo for Colin, all the best Gerald…
Gerald, I do not recall the photo, however when I left Aberkenfig some years ago after my divorce. I donated all of my collection of old Aberkenfig photographs to the library. They will have it in their archives somewhere. I remember the cinema (God, am I that old!), and the Sea Cadets built their unit on the site some time later. I believe that my father was one of the retained firemen who attended that fire.
I don’t remember my sister living in Sarn though? Bryn Road certainly. she is now in Cefn Cribbwr, and works on the Customer service desk at Asda’s Bridgend.
We will arrange to meet up some time for a pint , maybe with a couple of other old farts! My e-mail is celtphotographic@hotmail.co.uk . I’m away in the Baltic for the next two weeks, hope to catch up after that
