Gwen is getting worse – she is behaving more and more like a child. I’m sure that it is not us imposing our perceptions on her? !

I’m not sure if I have added this image onto this site – maybe on Facebook. We were in West Wales with Pete & Jean recently. We had walked about a mile before Gwen decided that she had had enough!

Well, we have been very lucky so far, but it started to catch up with us at last. Woke up to a drop of the white stuff this morning – 8″ in fact (measured it, so no comments about knowing what 8″ looks like). My Coast Watch shift was cancelled – which was a pity as I was looking forward to playing with the Land Rover and the snow chains. Clydach was disrupted, with several lorries attempting to make deliveries actually causing more problems than they would have solved. Inevitably ‘panic buying’ sets in – no milk or bread immediately (buy beer instead?!). One of the local arseholes spun his car in the road outside the house. sadly he didn’t damage it. Carol went into ‘Winter survival’ mode, with porridge for breakfast, stew filling the house with it’s lovely aroma, and I have just been served some hot mulled wine. This could be a good Christmas!

Picking up Chris, Irina & anna from Heathrow on Tuesday – weather permitting.

Carol is working away at the moment in Tewksbury. Gwen has decided that this is the opportunity to really establish herself in our bed. I think that if she really had her way I would be relegated to her dog basket. She is being evicted tonight.

Gwen’s Summer Haircut

Just a quick shot. Gwen has at last had her Summer haircut. She really is finding the heat difficult, and doesn’t have the brains to find the coolest place in the house. Chris & John are doing the ‘baby-sitting’ while we are away, so this skinhead cut will hopefully assist with Chris’ allergy to dog hairs as well. We really must train Gwen to sit in a more ‘lady-like’ manner though.

Thought I’d pop this one in…

We have just come back from nearly a week away in the caravan. Gwen has had more walks in this week than in previous months. Now she is not an overly keen walker – if it rains, and the grass is wet, she will avoid at all costs going out. After a while she will expect to be carried (we do not succumb to this!). When we got back home, she decided to crash out while we unloaded the caravan – hence the unladylike pose.

This is a sad one! Gwen had an admirer – we called him “Bob” – who was a lovely little dog, but who wouldn’t go away. We eventually had to have him taken to the pound. Hope he found a good home, he was a lovely little dog.

July 08: The constant search for food goes on

Although I have up until now added photographs of our little princess (!) Gwen, I think she now merits a spot of her own. So please forgive the drooling, but she is a bit special – and Carol and I are totally mad about her. So I will add thes in no specific order – only as I find them in my disorganised system.
